The Beginning
The Trails End Homeowners Association was incorporated as a domestic nonprofit corporation under the laws of the State of Georgia on July 26, 2000. The covenants and restrictions for Trails End Subdivision were filed on November 3, 2000, in Gilmer County, Georgia, by then developer and association president Dave Isom. Two addendums have subsequently been filed and recorded with the county.
Members take association ownership
The subdivision developer, Dave Isom of Mastercraft Properties, officially turned the Association and common property (clubhouse, pool, wells, roads, etc.) over to its members at the first annual meeting for the election of officers in March 2007.
The Association is managed by a Board of five directors elected annually. The Board consists of a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and Director at Large.
Elections for new Board members are held annually on the third Saturday of March at 10:00 a.m. in the Association clubhouse.
Association Membership
The Trails End Homeowners Association is composed of 54 members, one for each parcel of property contained in the Trails End Subdivision. Membership is mandatory for all property owners. New owners are required to pay a one time initiation fee of $1,000 per lot. Association dues are set annually by the Board of directors based on budgetary projections. All dues and fees must be paid up to date in order for members to remain in "good standing" and have a say in any Association business.
There are seven wells located in Trails End. They have an average depth of over 470’.
The deepest well is approximately 720’ deep!! That is taller than the Washington Monument and the Statue of Liberty! This is the same as the Westin Hotel in Atlanta (the 5th Tallest building in Georgia).
Trails End was originally used as hunting property that included a lodge built in 1975. The neighborhood was officially founded in 2000. It is comprised of 172.5 acres subdivided into 54 lots of three or more acres.
